Shares of Apple (AAPL) - Get Report rose slightly Wednesday after U.S. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew criticized the European Union's ruling on the tech giant's taxes. Speaking at the Brookings Institution this morning, Lew said the decision 'reflects an attempt to reach into the U.S. tax base, to tax income that ought to be taxed in the United States.' Lew added that the EU ruling 'undermines the environment in Europe for international business because it creates uncertainty that will ultimately not be good for the European economy.' Apple is a holding in Jim Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS portfolio.

Employees of TheStreet are restricted from trading individual securities.

Action Alerts PLUS, which Cramer co-manages as a charitable trust, is long APPL stock.
