Apple Sells Over 10 Million New iPhones in Record Opening Weekend
The numbers set a new record for the company, just three days after the devices were launched -- topping last year's opening weekend of 9 million units.
Apple announced it sold over 10 million new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models in its opening weekend. The numbers set a new record for the company, just three days after the devices were launched -- topping last year's opening weekend of 9 million units. Apple CEO Tim Cook said while the company couldn't be happier with the results, it could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and Apple is working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible. Cantor Fitzgerald analyst Brian White said the sales figure matched his projection and he believes shares of Apple will continue to head in an upward trajectory, reflected in his 12-month price target of $123.
