Apple Reportedly Has iPad Production Underway for Debut This Year

Apple has reportedly gotten mass production of its next-generation iPads into production. The new iPad Air could be announced as soon as this quarter or early next, while a new 7.9-inch model may be unveiled by the end of the year, according to sources cited by Bloomberg. But what will the new tablets be like? On its earnings call, CEO Tim Cook said Apple's partnership with IBM, which will bring enterprise solutions, apps and cloud services, "will be one such catalyst for future iPad growth." The company also may use new processors, upgraded cameras and its proprietary security and ID system, TouchID.
