Apple Ordered to Unlock San Bernardino Shooter's iPhone, CEO Opposes
A U.S. judge ordered Apple (AAPL) to help the FBI into a phone recovered from one of the San Bernandino shooters, an order that increases tensions between tech companies and law enforcement over the limits of encryption. The judge says Apple must assist the FBI in disabling the phone's auto-erase function, which activates after 10 consecutive unsuccessful passcode attempts. Apple's CEO Tim Cook says he plans to fight the judge's order.
