Apple (AAPL) - Get Report is selling $1.4 billion worth of 30-year notes with a coupon rate of 4.15 percent in Taiwan. An analyst with Standard Chartered said that the notes issue serve the needs of life insurers that are seeking higher yields over a longer time horizon. Apple already has a lot of its suppliers in Taiwan. Foxconn is used to assemble the iPhone while the tech-giant uses Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing to produce chips and Largan Precision to manufacture lenses. This offering is expected to help Apple curry more favor with its suppliers.
