Apple Goes to War With Western Digital

Apple has attempted to discourage Western Digital from buying Toshiba's chip business.

Apple (AAPL) has attempted to discourage Western Digital (WDC) from buying Toshiba's (TOSYY) chip business by threatening to not buy its products in the future, according to a report from Reuters.

The threat comes as Western Digital leads a $17 billion bid for the chip business.

Apple currently uses Toshiba's NAND flash memory chips in its iPhones.

Toshiba is under pressure to reach a deal soon and complete regulatory approvals by the end of the fiscal year in March.
