Shares of the Cupertino technology giant are moving lower this morning on news of the departure of Chief Design Officer Jony Ive.
Ive joined Apple in 1992 and has been instrumental in the design of many of its signature products, including the iMac and iPhone and more recently the Apple Watch and HomePod. He is leaving the company to start his own design company called LoveFrom, with Apple expected to be a main client.
While the departure of a key executive is certainly noteworthy it is important to remember that Apple thrived after Steve Jobs and there are many reasons to believe it will continue to do so after Jony Ive.
