Apple Car May Help Move Auto Industry Out of 'Commodity Business'
Renault-Nissan Chairman and CEO and well-regarded industry veteran Carlos Ghosn said he would steer clear of offering Apple's Tim Cook any advice on building a car because the tech company could very well be a formidable competitor. Ghosn said, 'It’s going to be very interesting to see what they are going to be bringing to the industry...in a certain way we are going to be welcoming the challenge because we want the car to move out of the commodity business.' Ghosn expects the tech giant will will innovate and create a car that's completely different for what's already on the road. He said, 'There is room for a lot of innovation, particularly when you take the angle of zero emission cars, connected cars and autonomous cars.' TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez has details from New York.
