The tech giant is selling the Pros for $249, $90 higher than the previous version. The ear buds will be sweat resistant as well as noise canceling. Meanwhile, Amazon (AMZN - Get Report) and Microsoft (MSFT - Get Report) will soon have their own wireless earbuds out on the market.
Apple shares rose 1% Monday to $249.05.
"[The AirPod Pro] blocks the outside noise and that's a feature of a lot of other premium wireless earphones that are out there [have]," said Nelson Wang, TheStreet tech editor. "And it's also going to have sweat resistance...some enhanced water resistance and a better fit in the ear, so quite a few new features."
TheStreet's tech reporter Annie Gaus said "This market is really growing as a whole, but Apple is currently the undisputed leader. They have about 50% market share in the space, so we'll find out in the coming quarters how compelling these competitors are, but Microsoft and Amazon also have a long way to go before catching up with Apple."
