AOL Founder Steve Case Explains What’s Next for the Internet
America Online kicked off the internet's so-called first wave by building its structural foundation, while companies like Google (GOOGL) - Get Report and Facebook (FB) - Get Report built on that groundwork in the second wave by creating social networks. In his new book The Third Wave, AOL founder Steve Case explains how entrepreneurs will revolutionize not just the Web, but the world, in the next stage of the internet's evolution. 'There are a lot of sectors of the economy that actually have not changed that much in the first wave or the second wave that I think can and will change in the third wave,' said Case. 'But I think it is going to require a different mindset for the innovators, whether it is the entrepreneurs or the bigger companies. It is not going to be the same playbook that worked in the second wave.'
