The American Gaming Association has launched its first television advertisement as the industry seeks to defeat November's ballot question to repeal Massachusetts' casino law. The 30-second ad focuses on a new study by Oxford Economics that shows the $240 billion industry supports 1.7 million jobs and generates $38 billion in federal, state and local taxes in the U.S. The D.C-based trade group stresses the ad does not expressly advocate for or against the ballot question, but is part of a national "education awareness" campaign. If the group was expressly advocating for or against the ballot question, it would be required to file campaign disclosure reports with the state. The ad is running in Boston and Springfield and will continue through Election Day on Nov. 4.
