'American Dream' Still Alive According to Wells Fargo's Retirement Survey
Eight in 10 people say the 'American Dream' is 'achievable' according to The Wells Fargo/Gallup Investor and Retirement Optimism Index (WFC). The survey was conducted June 27-July 9,2014 by telephone. The sampling included American investors defined as any person who is the head of a household or a spouse in any household with total savings and investments of $10,000 or more. Among the survey's many findings, nearly all investors equate achieving the American Dream with a secure retirement. Despite the positive outlook on obtaining the American Dream, the survey still found 47% of non-retired investors are either 'extremely' or 'somewhat' worried they have not saved enough to be able to retire.
