Since becoming AMD's ( AMD) CEO in 2014, Lisa Su has overseen a remarkable turnaround. A company that not long ago was plagued by bankruptcy fears is now profitable, gaining share against Intel in key market segments and looks poised to add to its recent success in 2019.
 
During a conversation with TheStreet that shortly followed new product announcements and news of a partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) ( AMZN) , Su talked about AMD's expectations for its fast-growing server CPU business, and its efforts to win over heavy-spending cloud service providers. She also touched on subjects such as AMD's expectations for its next-generation PC CPU lineup, its willingness to add specialized processing cores to future GPUs (as Nvidia has done) and the long-term outlook for the company's console processor business.
