But electrical engineer Jerry Sanders seemed fearless when he and his bunch of friends quit their job at Fairchild Semiconductor, and founded their own company in 1969. It was Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) .

The company began producing computer chips. Sanders' fearless approach took the company to new heights. Today the company is one of the successful ventures in semiconductor industry.
