Online retailer Amazon’s biggest rival isn’t another retailer – it’s Uber. That’s according to Scot Wingo, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of ChannelAdvisor, an e-commerce technology company. Wingo notes that Amazon is investing heavily in Prime Now, which offers same day delivery service in 24 big cities, and uses an ‘army of drivers, in an Uber-like way.’ Wingo notes that once Amazon’s fleet of drivers gets large enough, it might start ‘moving people around,’ like Uber does. He points out that at the same time, Uber is branching out from driving to logistics and delivery. ‘I think these companies could be on a collision course,’ said Wingo.
