The NFL is in the midst of contract negotiations with its broadcast partners ahead of the expiration of its television contracts over the next two years.
Disney's (DIS) ESPN Monday Night Football contract is the first to expire at the end of the 2021 season, while FOX (FOXA) , CBS (VIA) and NBC's (CMCSA) contracts expire at the conclusion of the 2022 season.
Dan Cohen of sports marketing and consulting firm Octagon sat down with TheStreet to discuss the league's broadcast negotiations.
"Thursday Night Football is by far the most interesting of the packages as far as where it goes," Cohen told TheStreet. "Fox has paid quite a pretty dollar for the (TNF) rights, which leads you to believe that the package will ultimately end up in a more exclusive type of relationship.
