Amazon ( (AMZN) - Get Free Report) unveiled new warehouse robots aimed at improving its employee safety. The company, which has been constantly scrutinized for the poor working condition of its warehouse employees, released a press statement on Sunday to make people aware of its efforts to help its workers.

"From testing new workstations to innovating on high-tech autonomous vehicles, Amazon’s Robotics and Advanced Technology teams focus on making work safer for employees," the company said.

These are Amazon's new robots:

  • Ernie: The robot delivers totes to employees. The company says that Ernie will make their facilities safer for employees
  • Bert: The robot carries items across the warehouse. The company says that Bert could help lessen the strain on employees
  • Scooter: The robot pulls carts through a fulfillment center. The company says that it could reduce the risk of strains on their employees, or even collisions.
  • Kermit: The robot moves empty totes at an Amazon fulfillment center. The company says that it will help get empty totes back to the starting line.
