Amazon's Deadline to Submit Proposal is Today:
The deadline to submit a proposal for Amazon's (AMZN) - Get Report 2nd headquarters is today and cities are making last minute efforts to stand out. The new headquarters, dubbed HQ2, will cost at least $5 billion dollars and and will create 50,000 jobs. It's unclear how many cities have submitted proposals so far, although reportedly there have been around 100.
FDA Approves Gilead's Cancer Treatment Drug:
Gilead (GILD) - Get Report shares are jumping after the FDA approved its cancer treatment. The lymphoma drug that helps the immune system identify and attack cancer cells. The drug is one of the CART-T therapies, which aim to help the immune system identify and target cancerous cells.
30th Anniversary of Black Monday:
Today is the 30th anniversary of Black Monday. On October 19th, 1987 the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 23%, it's largest one day percentage drop in history.
