It goes without saying that Amazon (AMZN) - Get Report had a stellar holiday season and the online juggernaut recently revealed its hottest product of 2016 — the Echo Dot.
Despite ramping up production the brand had trouble keeping the best-selling item in stock. Clearly Amazon was thrilled that millions of new customers were introduced to Alexa and all her delightfully informative ways.
One of the most attractive details about Echo Dot was its affordable price point of $49.99, and helped steer Amazon towards its estimated 2016 revenue of roughly $137 billion. Which amounts to impressive year-over-year growth of 28%.
