Expect modest global growth in 2015 and single digit returns for U.S. stocks in what will be a volatile year, said Kristina Hooper, U.S. Investment Strategist for Allianz Global Investors. Hooper added that she expects divergent paths for monetary policy with the U.S. and UK tightening in the coming year while further easing is likely in countries with a less positive growth dynamic. As for sectors, Hooper is bullish on technology due to its higher growth potential and the ability for tech companies to benefit from regulatory relief. Finally, she is positive on mid and small-cap U.S. stocks because these companies derive more of their revenues domestically, which should be a positive in a strengthening dollar environment.
