Alcoa Sales, Earnings Top Wall Street Forecasts
Alcoa handily beat Wall Street forecasts in the second quarter, posting earnings of $0.15 a share on revenue of $5.3 billion.
Lightweight metals-maker Alcoa (AA) - Get Report posted earnings of $0.15 a share on revenue of $5.3 billion. Analysts were looking for $0.10 a share on sales of $5.2 billion. So it handily beat the Street on the top and bottom lines. Last year, Alcoa earned $0.19 a share on sales of $5.9 billion in its first quarter. As for details, the company said profit in the future combined Arconic segments grew year-over-year and the future combined Alcoa Corporation, upstream, segments strengthened sequentially. The company said it is on track to complete its separation in the second half of 2016.
