The sixth largest airline in the U.S. is pushing for shorter lines at the airport by scanning your fingerprint. It wants to replace travel documents like passport and driver's license to let flyers get through check-in quicker. The airline says it has been testing a pilot program since August and is in the process of convincing the TSA that biometrics is safe. Of course, there are concerns from both transportation authorities and passengers on privacy, and Alaska Airlines will attempt to address them in the near future. Shares of Alaska Airlines have been under pressure lately, but over the past year, it climbed about a third. The Seattle based company is an innovator. It pioneered online ticketing and satellite navigation for jet landings in the 90's and introduced wireless check-in in 2001. Last year, it became the first airline to accept Google Wallet.
