Aetna Blows Away Earnings Expectations, Health Insurer Rallies

Health insurer Aetna ( (AET) ) reported earnings of $3.42 a share vs $2.35 expected. Revenue beat expectations but was down compared to last year on lower insurance premiums. Oil prices continue their late summer rise. Prices are up on expectations of more bullish data on U.S weekly inventory data. OPEC is set to meet next week. Dish Network ( (DISH) - Get Report ) says it added 444,000 new Pay TV subscribers in the 2nd quarter versus 527,000 a year ago. Earnings at Dish were way down compared to a year ago. Dish includes all of its Sling TV subscribers in the company's total Pay TV metrics. Just this week, reports surfaces that Japan's Softbank was interested in buying or taking a stake in Dish.
