Stocks got slammed on Wall Street in midday trading Tuesday. The telecom sector got hit the hardest. Dow component Verizon (VZ) is down more than 4%. AT&T (T) is also losing ground. Tesla (TSLA) can't put the brakes on sliding down for the eighth session. Shares are falling on cheaper gas prices dampening the drive for electric cars. Retailers are some of the few gainers in the session. Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) investors are cheering the exit of its embattled CEO. Shares of off-price retailer Burlington Stores (BURL) is gaining more than 4% despite missing its quarterly sales, for offering a better outlook.
