A Look at Five of the Worst Tweets From Brands
In terms of social media interactions, Wendy's (WEN) - Get Report started off the year on a high note by owning a user so hard they deleted their account. However, that victory was overshadowed last Thursday when they tweeted a popular alt-right meme (Pepe the frog) with the signature red Wendy's hairdo when a user asked them if there were any Wendy's memes. Wendy's quickly apologized a brand-appropriate answer from their social/digital PR team, but it makes you realize how hard brands have it now. Every message they send is scrutinized as it makes millions of impressions across their customers accounts. Some good, some bad, and some so completely terrible they made this list. All of the brands listed posted public apologies after the poorly timed, insensitive or accidental tweets.
