The Russell 2000 index currently is up over 7.5%, while the S&P 500 is up over 2.5% year-to-date.

While it's definitely more volatile because small companies grow fast and fall faster, these companies often are not affected by the strong dollar or overseas tariffs and could be bigger beneficiaries of lower effective corp rates than their global compadres.
