6 of Walmart's Most Recent Acquisitions
Walmart (WMT) - Get Report has been beefing up its digital portfolio with brands in order to compete with Amazon (AMZN) - Get Report ; its $3 billion acquisition of Jet.com was just the beginning.
1. Bonobos
As of April, Walmart is in advanced discussions to acquire Bonobos.
2. Modcloth.com
In March, Walmart's Jet.com is made a $50 million-$75 million bid for Modcloth.com, the 15-year-old women's vintage-inspired retailer.
3. Moosejaw
The Feb. 13, acquisition of of outdoor retailer Moosejaw for $50 million in cash gives Walmart a slew of popular brands including Patagonia and North Face.
4. Shoebuy.com
On Jan. 5, Walmart announced that it was buying online shoe seller Shoebuy.com from Barry Diller's IAC/InterActiveCorp IAC for $70 million.
Jet.com purchased online furniture retailer Hayneedle for a reported $90 million in February and was included in the purchase by Walmart.
6. Jet.com
Walmart acquired Jet.com in August 2016 for $3 billion in cash and $300 million worth of Walmart shares, gaining the brand's smartcart technology.
