3M Posts Upbeat Profits, Sees Organic Growth Around the World
Healthcare supplies sales and organic growth around the world lifted 3M earnings in the third quarter.
Healthcare supplies sales lifted 3M earnings in the third quarter. The Minnesota based Post-it notes maker reported organic growth around the world. Profit for the quarter came in at $1.98 a share, two cents better than expected. Sales grew 3 percent to $8.1 billion, which missed estimates narrowly. Supplies were flying off the shelves in both the U.S. and the Asia Pacific region. All five divisions did better than a year ago, especially healthcare and electronics and energy. The company said looking ahead, it will continue to focus on ‘broad-based organic growth.’ International expansion will still be on the agenda even though it already has a strong presence globally.
