3 Takeaways From Sohn Conference: Sell Tesla, SolarCity and Buy Gold
Some of the biggest hedge fund managers tell all at the annual Sohn Conference held in New York City on Wednesday. Short-seller Jim Chanos told CNBC that he's short Tesla (TSLA) - Get Report and that the recent departures of top executives is a 'red flag.' He also raised questions about just how profitable the automaker can be. Chanos is also short SolarCity (SCTY) , citing concerns that the company isn't making any money on its solar installations. Plus, DoubleLine Capital founder Jeffrey Gundlach thinks Donald Trump will win the presidency. And that if he does, investors should look to arms manufacturers as viable investments, and avoid companies that are vulnerable to a slowdown in global trade. This is all according to an interview with CNBC. And billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller told conference attendees that investors should sell their holdings in the stock market and instead, buy gold. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from New York.
