General Electric's (GE) - Get Report big breakup may be good longer term for investors. 

The stock could be revalued in the short-term as investors assess the positive impact from the company's healthcare spin-off, says the research team at William Blair. Meanwhile, by shedding its stake in oilfield services player Baker Hughes, GE's equity base will shrink (which could boost the stock).

Bad days over for GE shareholders? Tough to tell, but enthusiasm on the breakup may continue in the short-term.
