The consumer genetic-testing company 23andMe went public by merging with VG Acquisition, a SPAC sponsored by Richard Branson's Virgin Group.

Shares of the combined company, called 23andMe Holding, began trading on the Nasdaq Global Select Market on Thursday, with an opening price of $11.13.
