Goldman Sachs (GS - Get Report) , a holding of Jim Cramer's charitable trust Action Alerts PLUS, are up 80% since Lloyd Blankfein started as CEO in June 2006.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Blankfein is set to step down from his post.

Blankfein steered Goldman through some turbulent times - notably the 2008 financial crisis and the 2010 financial reform bill Dodd-Frank, which was a game changer for banks.

On Monday, Goldman named David Solomon as the sole president and COO of the bank. Co-President Harvey Scwhartz will retire in April.
