The 2018 Winter Games will start on Feb. 9, in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

And while it seems like a coup to be the host city, Pyeongchang is expected to spend around $13 billion, according to the Council on Foreign Relations.

And that's actually cheap. In 2014, Sochi,Russia blew the budget out the window and spent around $51 billion.

These exorbitant costs actually are causing some cities to drop out of the bidding though.

Oslo and Stockholm backed out of their 2022 bids after they started doing the math and Boston decided to say 'no thanks' after realizing the tab was way bigger than they thought.

So watch our video to see what the 5 most expensive winter games were and where Pyeongchang might fall in comparison.
