Shares of casino slot machine maker PlayAGS (AGS) , backed by Apollo Global Management (APO) , surged 14% in its NYSE debut on Friday.

The stock priced at $16 a share, before rising to $18.27 in Friday midday trading. 

While the company posted a net loss for most of 2017, CEO David Lopez said the company is focused now on growth and gaining market share.
