Walmart (WMT) shares moved sharply higher Thursday, helping to lift the broader markets.
Walmart posted a 50% increase in digital sales for its most recent quarter. The stock is up 40% since the start of the year.
Meanwhile, with news that Trian's Nelson Peltz has won more votes in his quest to secure a seat on Procter & Gamble's (PG) board, regardless of the final outcome, shareholders should benefit. That's the assessment from Matthew Cheslock, an equity trader with Virtu Financial.
