The 46th annual New York City Marathon is Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, and more than 50,000 runners from all over the world will convene on the Big Apple to run their hearts out.

There are so many cool facts surround this race so be sure to watch the video above.

But since last year's race had a over 51,000 finishers, it is now considered the largest marathon in the world.

And its sponsors have grown right along with the number of participants. ING Groep NV (ING) , a global financial services company, was the marathon's first title sponsor back in 2003.  Today the race's sponsors include companies like Tata Consultancy Services, Airbnb, New Balance and United Airlines (UAL) .

The winners receive the Samuel Rudin Trophy made by Tiffany & Co. (TIF) .

And how's this for cool? A wheelchair and handcycle division was created back in 2000.
