Google's (GOOGL - Get Report) Pixel 2 will be hitting store shelves soon, and people are eager to see what the new device will offer. According to reports, the basic model will feature a 5-inch display that has a 16-to-9 aspect ratio. Google will also offer a larger 6-inch Pixel XL 2, which will feature a wider 18-to-9 aspect ratio.

It is expected that the Pixel 2 will be powered by Qualcomm (QCOM - Get Report) Inc's Snapdragon 836 processor. It is a slightly improved version of it's current Snapdragon 835 flagship.

Google has also announced a $1.1 billion deal to buy most of HTC's struggling phone business. HTC is rumored to to be one of the manufacturers for the Pixel 2. This acquisition could provide Google with useful hardware engineering talent.

Should Samsung (SSNLF) and Apple (AAPL - Get Report)  be worried?
