When Fitzgerald said there are no second acts in American lives, he couldn't have foretold the number of political figures that would take on more of an entertainment role after their stint on the podium had ended. Or political roles after their time in the reality television spotlight. 

Regardless of your thoughts on Sean Spicer rolling out Melissa McCarthy's SNL prop for a surprise Emmy's appearance, he is certainly a recent example of the former. Another is Preet Bharara, the ex-US Attorney for the Southern District of New York who is taking on more of a public role on Twitter (TWTR) , his newly minted podcast and soon, blogger-at-large.
