Renault (RNO) - Nissan (NSANY) - Mitsubishi (MSBHY) have announced plans to launch 12 zero emission vehicles by 2022 as part of a six year strategy titled 'Alliance 2022'.

The group's plan also includes introducing 40 vehicles with varying levels of autonomy.

The group believes that this will double synergies between the companies to €10 billion on an annual basis by 2022.

"There is a lot of demand for many companies like Uber or others. And we intend to compete, because in a certain way, we are able to have the technology allowing the car without the driver," said Carlos Ghosn, Chairman of the Alliance
