If you're watching the Virginia elections today, you might remember that a few months ago there was a ton of chatter about former GOP Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina throwing her hat in the ring for a U.S. Senate seat.

Well, she told us exclusively that she was not going to run for the Senate, but that has not stopped her from being politically active. She is out today showing full support for GOP gubernatorial candidate Ed Gillespie, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Great morning in Springfield with a strong leader and my friend, the next Governor of Virginia, @EdWGillespie! #VAGovRace https://t.co/HrLXo9uyKv

In addition to her continual political involvement, Fiorina has since launched Unlocking Potential, a foundation that teaches leadership. As Chairman, Fiorina believes "that leaders are made, not born; that everyone has far more potential than they realize; and that people living closest to the problems are best positioned to solve them."

Because while most of her career was spent in corporate America -- she was the first woman to head a Fortune 500 company when she became CEO and president of Hewlett-Packard (HPQ - Get Report) and she was the first female officer at AT&T (T - Get Report) -- her focus is on nonprofit and social enterprise companies.

"Leadership always takes courage and character....and everyone has that."

Fiorina certainly does.
