German apparel maker Addidas AG (ADDYY) has overtaken Nike Inc.'s (NKE)  Jordan Brand as the United States' second most popular footwear brand, according to a survey by industry watcher NPD Group.

However, Nike's dominance of footwear and athleisure might soon bounce back with new Air Jordan releases coming down the pipeline -- the next being the Air Jordan 6 Retro Low GG "Sunblush", Air Jordan 6 Retro Low GG "Sunblush" and the Air Jordan 11 Retro Low IE White/Gym Red-Black coming on September 23rd, according to Sole Collector
