Former GOP Presidential candidate Carly Fiorina believes there are a lack of leaders today so she is in the process creating a non-profit to teach leadership. "I believe very strongly.....that leaders are made not born ...that leadership is first and foremost about problem solving."

And leadership comes in all shapes and sizes, she says. She is keenly aware of the lack of female leaders at the top. Because at this point, women make up only 22% of S&P 500 boards, according to data by BoardEx, a financial arm of TheStreet.

She tells Alpha Rising what she is doing to help change that.
