Two cable companies might be able to strike a deal with a telecommunications firm to offer wireless service.

Sprint (S - Get Report) , Charter Communications (CHTR - Get Report) & Comcast (CMCSA - Get Report) are reportedly in exclusive talks to explore the possibility of securing a deal on this matter. It has also been suggested that the talks could possibly resulted in the cable companies purchasing Sprint.

This move and the discussions that are set to follow will put the potential merger between Sprint and T-Mobile (TMUS - Get Report)  U.S. on hold.
