Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary is looking to jump into politics in his native Canada. If he takes the leadership of the country's conservative party, he could end up as Prime Minister.
He sat down with TheStreet's Scott Gamm and spoke about the success of Donald Trump in the U.S., Marine LePen's surge in France, along with big changes in Switzerland and Columbia.
He points to one common thread, which is voters looking for candidates with a track record of executing their ideas. O'Leary drew a connection between the skills needed to run a country and the skills needed to run a business.
When it comes to what Canadian voters are looking for at the polls, he said "So Canadians are getting tired of their government. They want to throw them out and replace them with people that do a better job at running the country."
On April 26, news reports said O'Leary dropped out of the race to lead Canada's conservative party.
