The bumble bee, known as Buzz, has been replaced with a weird, white outline. The move is an effort by Cheerios maker General Mills (GIS - Get Report) to drive awareness of the bee's status as an endangered species. More than 30% of General Mills' ingredients are dependent on pollination.

In January, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service put the prized pollinator on the endangered species list.
