For the short term, you don't need to make a host of changes to your portfolio now that Donald Trump is president, according to Brad McMillan, chief investment officer at Commonwealth Financial Network.

"Enjoy the ride. Fundamentals are improving in the U.S.," he said. "Certain industries will get disrupted, but there will be opportunities out there."

Investors who have a well-diversified portfolio should be in good shape, according to McMillan.

Monday is the first full market day of Trump's presidential administration.
