On Friday investors await the final economic data points of 2016. At 9:45 a.m. ET, the Chicago PMI for December is released. Analysts expect the index to fall to 57, from 57.6 in the prior month. At 1 p.m. ET, the weekly Baker Hughes (BHI) rig count is out. Friday is the final trading session of 2016 and the last day of the fourth quarter. Investors will be looking to see how the markets performed for the year. The energy, financials and telecom services sectors are on track to be the best-performing S&P 500 sectors of 2016.
