On Tuesday, December 20, investors await quarterly results from FedEx (FDX - Get Report) and Nike (NKE - Get Report) . After the markets close, analysts expect Nike to report earnings of $0.43 a share on sales of $8.09 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, the company posted per share earnings of $0.45 on revenue of $7.69 billion. The strong dollar has impacted Nike's results so far this year. Also after the markets close, analysts expect FedEx to report earnings of $2.89 per share on sales of $14.9 billion. In the year ago quarter, FedEx clocked earnings of $2.58 a share on sales of $12.5 billion. Other notable earnings include Carnival Corporation (CCL - Get Report) , BlackBerry (BBRY) and General Mills (GIS - Get Report) . Aside from earnings, the markets await policy meeting from the Bank of Japan. Analysts will be looking for commentary on the outlook of the Japan economy. A change in interest rates is not expected to be announced. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
