The 2016 holiday season will be the busiest online shopping season ever thanks primarily to heavy buying from Baby Boomers, said Wayne Best, chief economist at Visa (V) . Best said nearly half of consumers will complete their holiday shopping online. A Visa survey also forecast 33% of digital holiday shopping will take place on mobile devices such as tablets and phones. Overall, Best said steady improvements in the job market and higher wages will give consumers more discretionary income to spend on friends and family this holiday season
