As a real estate practitioner, having Donald Trump in the White House is a "great thing" for the already-hot hotel business, said Tyler Morse, CEO of MCR Development. Manhattan-based MCR Development is the seventh largest hotel owner-operator in the country, owning 82 Hilton (HLT - Get Report) and Marriott-branded (MAR - Get Report) properties in secondary markets throughout the country. Shares of Hilton are up 27% year-to-date, while Marriott's stock is up 26% thus car in 2016. Morse said the holiday season is shaping up well for the hotel industry as a result of the healthy economy and low airline fares which are enabling families to travel more frequently.
